After bouncing the idea around for the past seven years, Diana Sideris and Rony Goraichy have decided to expand Tabülè, their popular Yonge Street Middle Eastern restaurant, to the east end. Having secured a space at 810 Queen Street East, near Bonjour Brioche, they hope to open by February of next year.
The Tabülè team has enlisted Commute Home (Smith, Nyood) for décor; the aim is to have a fun, hip interior, something to reflect the neighborhood and the people around it. Food-wise, Sideris says the new location won’t be much different from the original Tabülè (which made Joanne Kates’ top 100 list in 2010), but a few changes are expected for the future.
“We’re hoping to add some different things and evolve that way,” Sideris says. Gluten-free pitas and more vegetarian and vegan options are in the works, as well as an updated cocktail list.
“We’re really excited for the new neighborhood,” Sideris says.
