This year, Eataly Toronto’s Il Patio di Eataly with Aperol has expanded to include an all-new, walk-in-only outdoor space on Bloor St., across from Eataly’s main entrance.
The partnership with Aperol started in the summer of 2020, with the launch of Il Patio di Eataly by Aperol. This summer marks the restaurant’s third consecutive summer working with the iconic Italian brand to open its patio spaces on Bay and Bloor.
This year’s Bay St. patio menu features a mix of some of the chef’s favourites alongside new dishes like Agnello Spiedino, an Italian-style skewer featuring Beverly Creek Lamb Shoulder and housemade salsa verde, and Calamari e Zucchine Fritte, polenta-crusted fried calamari, zucchini and lemon.
At Eataly Toronto, in-house experts prepare a variety of ingredients every morning that are then sold in the marketplace and used in dishes across Eataly’s restaurants. The regional pasta dishes featured on the Il Patio di Eataly with Aperol menu highlight the restaurant’s hand-crafted fresh pasta shapes, like Fusilli alla Trapanese, a Sicilian-style dish prepared with housemade fusilli, housemade tomato, basil, and almond pesto, and Pecorino Romano DOP.
Exclusive to the Bloor St. standing bar this patio season is a Build Your Own Gin & Tonic menu, which lets guests create their own unique version of the classic cocktail. It starts with a choice of gin from over a dozen different options, including Italian favourites like Rivo and Malfy Rosa. Guests can then pick their choice of tonic to suit their tastes and dress up their creation with two fresh garnishes.
Of course, classic summer cocktails like the Aperol Spritz and Negroni, as well as a selection of craft beer from the restaurant’s in-house brewery Birroteca by Indie Alehouse, are also available.
Il Patio di Eataly with Aperol will be open daily for the summer season (weather permitting) from now through September 30, 2022. The Bloor patio is open daily from noon to 8 p.m. while the Bay patio is open Sunday to Thursday from noon to 9 p.m. and from Friday to Saturday from noon to 10 p.m.
