Every cheese lover’s fantasy has returned to Toronto, thanks to the Ritz Carlton’s TOCA. The restaurant is slated to relaunch its famous cheese cave on June 9, kicking it off with a reception at the Ritz-Carlton called ‘Omaggio al Formaggio.’
The renowned cave, lined with unique and hard-to-find cheeses, is back in partnership with Afrim Pristine of Cheese Boutique fame, lining wooden shelves in a temperature-controlled room.
To celebrate the cheese cave’s relaunch, TOCA is hosting a special celebration inside the Ritz-Carlton, complete with a cocktail reception and followed by a three-course meal that’s centered, of course, around cheese. A specialty cheese tasting and tour of the cave will also follow.
In true Italian fashion, courses at the event include an appetizer salad (a choice between an insalata mista or a Caprese salad), a choice of pasta dishes and a main dish selection (with a vegetarian option available). Finally, the service will be topped with a choice of dessert, which includes either a baked pecorino cheesecake or a cannoli.
Tickets for the event can be purchased online, via OpenTable, and cost $125 per person, and a wine pairing can be added for an additional $75. TOCA is located inside The Ritz-Carlton at 181 Wellington St. W.
