Sail-In Cinema

Details: Who doesn’t want to watch films projected onto a two-sided floating movie screen in Toronto Harbour? This year’s Sail-In Cinema is screening Ghostbusters (Aug. 15), The Princess Bride (Aug. 16) and Back to the Future (Aug. 17).
Canadian National Exhibition
When: Aug. 16 to Sept. 2
Where: Exhibition Place
Details: This annual fair will feature concerts, celebrity chef demos, parades, rides, competitions and more. Aviation enthusiasts won’t want to miss the annual air show, which will be taking place during the last three days of the fair. Also: the cronut burger.
Yogathon
When: Aug. 17
Where: Yonge-Dundas Square
Details: The second annual Yogathon will consist of 108 sun salutations being performed in 11 cities across Canada this Saturday. The event raises money for Care for Children.
The Price is Right Live!
When: Aug. 18
Where: Molson Canadian Amphitheatre
Details: The stage version of the popular game show is coming to Toronto this weekend. Members of the audience will be selected as contestants and then put through the show’s typical challenges, including Plinko.
Mabuhay Philippines Festival
When: Aug. 16 to 18
Where: Harbourfront Centre
Details: One of the largest celebrations of Filipino culture in Canada, this festival will have a performance by the Fiesta Filipina Dance Troupe, a parade, a chef cook-off and more.
