New details emerge in case of murdered Leaside couple

As new evidence comes to light in the ongoing investigation into the Florida murder of a Leaside couple, their Toronto neighbours continue to come to grips with the long-unsolved crime.

“Of course the crime happened far away, but when the victims are from your neighbourhood, it feels close to home,” said Leasider Andrew Young.

David Pichosky and Rochelle Wise were found dead in their Hallandale Beach home on Jan. 10, 2013. At a news conference earlier this year, Florida police announced that they were seeking two female suspects. The Wise and Pichosky families have both publically asked for anyone with information to come forward.

In Leaside, however, there is very little that can be done to assist the investigation. Constable Wendy Drummond, a spokesperson for Toronto Police Service, said that, when Torontonians are involved with crimes abroad, the case remains in the hands of the investigators in the jurisdiction of the crime.

“If anyone has any information regarding a crime abroad, they can bring their tips to Crime Stoppers,” she said. “We will forward them to the right jurisdictions.”
