Direct from Australia, Karen’s — a 1950s style diner concept that “prides itself on terrible service” — is bringing its interactive dining experience to Toronto beginning tomorrow, in order to “teach the city a lesson.”
At Karen’s Diner, you can expect good food, good fun and a dining experience you’ve most likely never experienced before. You see, at Karen’s, diners will be greeted and waited upon by probably some of the rudest staff they’ve ever encountered.
For those not in the know, a “Karen” is a slang term for a woman you may have seen throwing a tantrum in a Tim Horton’s or one who asks to speak to a manager over the slightest inconvenience. You’ve probably seen the meme on social media in the last few years.
“Our staff are rude and our manners are non-existent. Come on, ask for the manager… WE DARE YOU!” says a statement on the diner’s website.
Along with rude staff who shout at you and can hardly be bothered to serve you, diners can choose from a menu of burgers, wings, fries and “tasty cholesterol-heavy bites”
The diner which has 14 locations across Australia, the UK and the USA will be making its way to Trecce restaurant located at 1792 Danforth Ave. April 22 to May 14.
They just added a bunch of new dates, so if you didn’t manage to grab a ticked to the sold out show, you just might be in luck!
Tickets are $45 per person and include one burger, one order of fries and one soda and can be booked here.
