Bloordale’s The Three Speed has all the trappings of a hipster bar: twinkly lights in the window, exposed brick walls and a west-end location. When the weather behaves, booze-happy barflies tuck into comforting eats (such as shepherd’s pie) and swill libations on the back patio.
The so-called Beggar’s Banquet ($10) — one of the bar’s rotating cocktail specials — is a sinful blend. Wild Turkey bourbon meets lemon juice, maple syrup and bitters. Topped off with Mill Street Tankhouse Ale and served in a highball glass, this puppy gives the imbiber a veritable bang for their buck.
