Chef Victor Barry is bringing his Piano Piano restaurant to the St. Lawrence Market area

Beloved Italian spot Piano Piano is opening a new Toronto location at 55 Colborne St.

Over the years Chef Victor Barry, along with business partners Brendan Piunno and Nikki Leigh McKean, have taken unpretentious fine dining across Toronto and the GTA, expanding Piano Piano from one location to three.

Now a fourth location is set open and if it’s anything like the others, you can expect a Toronto-based designer to be at the helm along with graffiti rose garden facades designed by artist Alexander Bacon.

Barry is no stranger to Toronto’s culinary scene. In 2009 at the age of 26, he opened Splendido, an upscale tasting-menu restaurant which at the time was the priciest in the city. After closing in 2015, he reopened his iconic restaurant at 88 Harbord St. as the more casual Piano Piano.

Offering an elevated take on traditional Italian fare, the menu features “soulfully satisfying food” including a family-style menu as well as a range of frozen pizzas available to purchase at a number of gourmet shops across the city.

“I wanted the menu to be easy and simple, but the best f*cking version of the foods you already know and love,” Barry said in a 2016 interview. “The food on the plate has to be greater than the sum of its perfectly cooked parts.”

The fourth Piano Piano location is set to open in the fall of this year.
