The Best Cheesecake in Toronto
“That has cheesy goodness,” said Mark of this dolce de leche slice. He argued that this cheesecake was the most traditional of the bunch and that “the caramel was a nice touch.” (1875 Leslie St., Unit 21, $28.95)
This month’s runner-up and winner were head to head. Mark really enjoyed the texture of this cake, but when it came down to the nitty-gritty, this slice was “lacking in vanilla.” (114 Cumberland St., $64.95)
“This one is very attractive,” said Mark of this elegant personal sized cheesecake. He also really enjoyed the raspberry filling hidden inside its shiny glazed dome.
(1626 Bayview Ave., $9)
“Now this looks interesting,” said Mark of the double fromage Japanese cheesecake. He enjoyed the lightness of this cake but argued it was too far from traditional.
(5291 Yonge St. $20.95)
Amongst the slew of bold and rich flavours, Mark was happy to see a New York–style slice. “This is a good version of a classic cheesecake,” he said.
(7355 Bayview Ave., $20)
Mark really enjoyed the chocolate flavour in this slice hailing from Kensington Market, but he thought it was a little dense compared to the others.
