Wasabi honey ice cream anyone? It might sound strange, but at Wong’s Ice Cream it’s one of their best selling flavours. Ed Wong, the one-man operator and owner behind Wong’s Ice Cream is serving up Asian-inspired ice cream flavours that take this frozen dessert to a whole new level. Wong’s is a small shop with a bare bones interior, making their ice cream the focal point. The big orange sign will lour you in from the street and the smell of waffle cones will intoxicate you as you wait in line to pick your scoop. The flavours are an assortment of creative and unique combinations, like chocolate yuzu and Vietnamese coffee. The ice cream store is also a small grocery, selling Pan Asian- inspired products from natural Canadian retailers like Neal Brothers. They also sell larger quantities of their delicious ice cream and package it in Chinese takeout containers for added flare. Be sure to come in and grab a scoop, you won’t be disappointed.
