Rahier Patisserie has been a mainstay in the Leaside neighbourhood since it first opened its doors in 1996. Now more than two decades later, residents in South Bayview continue to flock to the bakery for its intimate atmosphere and delicious baked goods. The menu is filled with items like fresh baked bread on weekends, daily sandwiches and a selection of quiches for those looking for a savoury snack. The selection of baked goods is endless with croissants, danishes, frangipane, apple turnovers, eclairs, cookies, chocolates, macarons and shortbread tarts. There’s also an entire cakes menu with a dozen different cake options that are exquisitely made and decorated and come in individual sizes up to larger orders that can feed 12 people. The cakes range from classics such as tiramisu, opera and mille feuille to more unique and seasonal offerings. The bakery is run by Francois Rahier and Souvannaraj Keopraseuth, who goes by the nickname To. The pair focus on delivering excellent European pastries in an atmosphere that remains intimate as a neighbourhood bakery should.
