Galleria Supermarket is the biggest Korean grocery store in Canada and located north of the Shops at Don Mills. This is a 40,000-square-foot soon-to-be mecca for lovers of bulgogi, japchae and kimchi.
Manager Shawn Kim says the store will offer top quality Korean and Chinese products, along with foods from other communities.
There’s also a lunch buffet bar (charged by the weight), an on-site cook making fresh tofu and fish cakes, travel and clothing shops, and classes for the public on the art of Korean cooking.
This is the second location for owner Jeffery Min, who plans on opening a third spot next year in Mississauga. The original location is at Yonge and Steeles.
Galleria Supermarket's $7 million dollar facility will be open 365 days a year from 7 a.m. to midnight.
