Fun event at Downsview Airport on the runway

You can party on a massive airport runway at a free summer event this weekend

This weekend, ย Play On The Runway returns to the city turning the historic Downsview Airport runway into a massive playground for a full weekend of fun, creativity, and community spirit.

Imagine a two-kilometre stretch of open tarmac transformed into a vibrant playground where your imagination can run wild. From 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on both days, attendees of all ages can indulge in a variety of activities.

โ€œ’Play On The Runway’ is all about celebrating the future of the Downsview Airport Lands,โ€ says Mitchell Marcus, executive director, site activation & programming at Northcrest Developments. โ€œWeโ€™re inviting everyone to join us and see what they can create with this unique space. It’s a glimpse into the vibrant community and one-of-a-kind destination we’re building here.โ€

Whether youโ€™re on wheels or on foot, there’s something for everyone. Bring your bikes, scooters, rollerblades, skateboards, unicycles, strollers, and tricycles. No wheels? No worries. Try out the latest toys like SCOOTYโ€™s electric scooters and Shift Transit bikes, borrow roller skates from Suso Skate, or hop onto an IndyBike or a 20-seater MegaBike.
