Yorkville’s epic new Greek restaurant just might have the best patio in town

Tucked away just off of Old York Lane on Yorkville Ave., a piece of Greece awaits, complete with an open-air patio decked out in miniature olive trees, sprawling magenta bougainvillaea and house music reminiscent of long, lazy nights on the island of Paros.

Designed by Lisa Ho Studio, the interior of Paros features a coastal colour palette — think cream-coloured walls, wooden tables and chairs and ambient lighting in the form of backlit arches. The latest project by Rosewood Hospitality Group, Paros officially opens to the public on Friday, Sept. 29.

Drawing inspiration from authentic Greek culinary traditions, the newest restaurant in Yorkville seeks to bring a taste of the Greek islands to Toronto with a menu that features plenty of charcoal grilled meat and seafood, as well as recognizable favourites. Executive Chef Jack Connacher and the talented team have curated an à la carte menu using fresh and local ingredients.

To start, share a dip trio—which includes a roasted eggplant spread and homemade tzatziki—or opt for the Greek salad, which puts a twist on the classic thanks to a sesame-crusted block of feta stacked on top. Other sides include lightly-battered zucchini frites and the show-stopping saganaki (grilled cheese) which of course, includes an Instagram-worthy fire show, tableside.

Mains include juicy lamb chops served with Paros sauce (packed with mint and other herbs), a branzino fillet with salsa verde, the wagyu flatiron steak served in a piping hot skillet, and charred, jumbo shrimp drizzled with lemon.

During dinner, sink back in your chair with a cocktail and enjoy a series of live performances, including fire and interpretive dancers. In addition to craft cocktails created by head bartender Josh Duchesne and time-honoured Greek wines and beers, those looking to continue their evening can opt for bottle service with premium bubbles and liquor.

There are 12 signature cocktails at Paros that use a mix of fresh juices and spirits. If you’re looking for something authentically Greek to sip on, order the Bloo Bere Lemonada, made with a shot of ouzo, gin, blueberries and lemonade. Classic cocktails include a selection of martinis, margaritas, spritzes and more. For those in the mood to celebrate, bottle service is also available.

Paros is located at 119 Yorkville Ave and is open for lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to late.
