Celebrating its 40th anniversary, the Canadian International AutoShow makes its way back to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre this weekend for another grand showcase of cars from the past, present and future. The 600,000-square-foot space will showcase everything from eco-friendly vehicles to customized hot rods to Bugattis and Rolls-Royces.
Get Warm With the Music
With over 100 artists on four stages over a three-day span, Winterfolk XI will give fans more than enough roots and blues memories to last the year. And though the word “festival” usually denotes large outdoor spaces, all of Winterfolk’s stages are indoors, with quiet listening rooms for the audience to hear every note. Heads-up: most of the festival is free, but there are a few premium paid stages. Be sure to check.
Sips and Nibbles
Forget making restaurant reservations this Saturday and head to the Toronto Underground Market’s Sips and Nibbles event instead. For a fee of $75, sample unlimited (we repeat, unlimited) food from 10 hand-selected vendors, including La Carnita, Rock Lobster Food Co. and Fidel Gastro’s. And though it’s at the Steam Whistle Brewery, this is a cocktail party, so semi-formal attire is required.
Mature Snow Fun
Keep your eye on the sky, because this is one event we hope does get snowed out. If you’re looking for something different this Sunday, head over to the Humber Arboretum for an adults-only snowshoeing event (meaning, leave the kids at home). Just because snowshoeing is a stereotypical Canadian activity doesn’t mean that it won’t be a raucous good time.
I Hate You… I Love You…
The Creatures Creating Collective’s Hate Love Art Show explores the duality of love and hate. Starting on Valentine’s Day, the show runs until Feb. 20.
