Wanted: this pink down jacket from Pop Up 120

Opening this past spring on the Ossington strip, Pop Up 120 is a "rotating pop up shop concept that features a unique, dynamic brand, event or exhibition each season." Conceived by the wholesale distribution company, AgencyOne, the pop up shop strives to act as a mouthpiece for emerging fashion brands, promoting brand awareness to the Toronto community at large.

As a huge fan of Danish fashion, I was pretty excited to learn Denmark's Ganni is the second label to grace Pop Up 120 since the store's inception, and will stick around until February 2014. Ganni was founded in 2000 in Copenhagen and the label produces classic pieces with contemporary design details. Upon visiting the shop I spotted plenty of angora knits in neutral colours, sensible ankle boots and court shoes in suede and patent leather, wool coats cut like menswear, and Ganni's signature line of vintage-inspired lingerie.

Perhaps it was the particularly frigid night air this past weekend, or perhaps it's all the pink coats I've been dreaming about, but the Down to Earth jacket in Rose Smoke was an immediate favourite. A classic down jacket in an unexpected dusty pink, this piece wins for being soft and light while keeping you plenty toasty in the dead of winter. If you're concerned that the pink is a bit too Barbie for an adult woman, consider that the utilitarian silhouette of the down jacket is a nice counterbalance to the sugary shade.

$320. Available at Pop Up 120, 120 Ossington Ave., 416-703-2916
