If you’re looking for exotic cereals, standout sodas and imported chips, you no longer have to scour the web and pay exorbitant shipping fees.
Vending Machine has entered the Uber game, offering a one-stop shop for some of the snack market’s most unique products that aren’t super easy to find in Canada. If you’ve been dreaming of a Hostess Twinkie Iced Latte, Mountain Dew’s VooDew 2021 Mystery Flavour or Rice Krispies Cookies and Cream Edition Cereal, the virtual candy store can make your dreams a reality.
The locally-based virtual store, aptly named Vending Machine, boasts that it carries the rarest exotic snacks (chips, chocolate, spreads, instant meals and more), exclusive collaborations and time sensitive drops all in one place. They’re available through purchase on the store’s website, but local delivery is available through third party apps like UberEats and Skip The Dishes.
Pick-up at various locations across the city and the GTA is also available, and the list of locations to collect your order is rapidly expanding. The new year also saw the business expand to offer event catering, so that Jojo Siwa’s soda collaboration or Strawberry Corn Pops can be a party favour for any kind of celebration.
Vending Machine first gathered an Instagram presence in November 2021, posting a series of graphics to the company’s Instagram page to announce its arrival on the scene. Soon after, gift cards became available, and then 2022 brought weekly drops alongside the event catering and increased pick up locations. Note, though, that the business is not open 24/7, so the rare snacks can’t satisfy a late-night craving unless it’s been planned for ahead of time.
The website allows Vending Machine to offer the rare snacks internationally, but Torontonians get the advantage of instant local delivery.
