Ultra-lux new Muskoka resort features lakeside hot tubs and gourmet dining

Arcana, a company that boasts of a dedication to connecting urban life with the healing powers of nature, is expanding its mission with the launch of a new location in Muskoka. Toronto’s swanky cottage country Mecca will be the backdrop for arcana’s 23 private, architecturally stunning cabins nestled within 160 acres of forested property, boasting over 3,000 feet of waterfront. Guests at arcana Muskoka will have the opportunity to engage in self-guided, year-round wellness experiences that encourage introspection and exploration of the natural environment.

The expansive property, situated on a tranquil lake, offers uninterrupted views of nature from the cabins, as well as access to a signature hydrotherapy circuit, featuring a cedar sauna and cold plunge at the water’s edge. Outdoor activities will vary with the seasons, including swimming and canoeing during the summer, and access to 10 kilometres of four-season hiking trails meandering through mature forests of hemlock, oak, maple, and birch.

To enhance the guest experience, arcana has collaborated with renowned hospitality experts from the Toronto area including Restaurant Pearl Morissette (Niagara), Cheese Boutique, Grape Witches, and Robin Goodfellow (Bar Raval, Vela), to provide exceptional food and beverage options that focus on local, seasonal ingredients.

Arcana Muskoka is a one-of-a-kind experience in the region. We emphasize self-discovery through immersion in nature and the stimulation of all five senses,” says Felicia Snyder, co-founder of arcana. “Our goal is to encourage exploration not only during the summer but throughout all four captivating seasons of Muskoka. Through thoughtful design, we have created a destination that offers moments of solitude while providing ample opportunities for connection. We are excited to bring arcana to the heart of Muskoka.”

The cabin design, crafted in collaboration with Leckie Studio and constructed by Hummingbird Hill Homes and Studio Morro, features slightly larger spaces with notable upgrades. These upgrades include larger windows for expansive views and improved airflow, all-oak interiors, heated floors, air conditioning for year-round comfort, and more spacious bathrooms. Each cabin has a dedicated outdoor area with a firepit and seating, encouraging guests to spend time outdoors regardless of the season. Upon arrival, guests are invited to embark on arcana’s signature custom sound journey, designed to guide them into a fully present state of being. Additional in-cabin amenities include organic skin and hair care products from Sangre de Fruta, a British Columbia-based company, and fully stocked pour-over coffee supplies.

The Pavilion, a vibrant and sensory-filled space designed in collaboration with Futurestudio, serves as a gathering place by the lakeside. Guests can come together around the large fireplace for shared experiences or find solace in solo reflection while enjoying the seasonal selection of vinyl in the second-floor listening room. The Honour Bar offers arcana’s popular DIY tea ritual and seasonal cocktails crafted by Goodfellow.

In a unique collaboration, Restaurant Pearl Morissette and Cheese Boutique, two highly acclaimed hospitality leaders and premium food suppliers in Canada, will provide gourmet, seasonally-inspired prepared dishes composed of the region’s highest quality ingredients for in-cabin dining. Guests can also enjoy a thoughtfully curated selection of non-alcoholic beverages from partners like Barbet, Collective Arts.
