Summer has only just begun, and there’s still an abundance of exciting things to look forward to. One of the most anticipated arrivals is a new Latin-inspired bar and restaurant set to open soon at Yonge and Front.
Named for Corporate Executive Chef Anthony Walsh’s daughter, Ceci Bar will be the next addition in the line-up of Oliver & Bonacini Hospitality restaurants, joining good company alongside some of Toronto biggest restaurants, including La Plume, Luma and Biff’s Bistro to name a few.

With a spacious streetside patio on Yonge and indoor dining, Ceci Bar will be a celebration of summer with punchy plates that offer a Latin flair. The menu will consist of all-day bocadillos (snacks), salads, tacos and small and large plates. With a happy hour planned and a cocktail menu heavy with tequila, mescal and pisco, it will be the perfect spot for after-work drinks downtown. During the summer months, Ceci Bar with also have boozy slushies on the menu.
If the anticipation is too much, for a short time only, guests can preview just a taste of what Ceci Bar has to offer through a pop-up at Leña Restaurant, another South American restaurant led by Chef Walsh—this one named for his Argentinian mother-in-law Elena.
Though Ceci Bar will boast an a la carte menu, at the preview, Leña is serving a $65 prix-fixe menu with tropic-inspired dishes like mahi mahi coconut ceviche, pork shoulder and belly tacos, red prawns a la plancha, and chocoflan. Paletas (Mexican-style popsicle) or a smokey shot of los siete mezcal can be added for an additional cost.
Available until July 14, the pop-up is sure to put you in a summer mood and get you excited for the arrival of the full-scale Ceci Bar, which, if all goes according to plan, will be opening late summer at Yonge and Front Streets.
