Bézier Curve House

Toronto’s famous curvy house is officially on the market for $12.9 million

Situated nonchalantly in Lawrence Park South, 108 Stratford Cres. is unapologetically bespoke. From the concrete lap pool in the front yard to the hand-laid, diamond-shaped zinc shingles to the softly curved roof, it’s clear that the six-bedroom, seven-bathroom property was designed to be remarkable. Known as the famous Bézier Curve House, the buyers of this architectural phenomenon will also be getting a little slice of Toronto history.

The home was conceptualized by Farhad Kazmian, a custom home builder and the owner of Abond Homes. His plans for the home were twofold – he wanted to create a home for his family that could also serve as an inspiring showcase for his business. To help him flesh out the design plans, Kazmian brought on architect, interior designer and founder of Toronto design firm Bortolotto Design, Tania Bortolotto. Together, they created a 5,300-square-foot showstopper, now known as the Bézier Curve House.

Less than two years after it was built, the Bézier Curve House has hit the market, listed at $12.895 million. It’s ultra-modern, spacious, a short drive from the downtown core and close to top-rated public and private schools – perfect for a family and then some!

The home makes a bold first impression. In addition to the atypical roofline, an expansive A-frame window allows passersby a peek into the home’s unique interior. The front courtyard has in-ground heating and is lushly landscaped, giving the window-heavy façade a sense of privacy.

Inside of the home, the transparent architecture reads like the interior of a cathedral or museum. A curved central staircase follows the curve of the roof rafters, drawing attention to the high ceilings. An elevator services all floors.

The main floor is open concept with 24-foot ceilings and European engineered white oak flooring throughout. It includes a lounge area, a dining room, a chef’s kitchen and walk-out access to the front courtyard. Thanks to the large window walls, the space is usually doused in natural light.

Bedrooms are located on the second and lower levels. The principal bedroom, on the second level, is ultra-private, with an ensuite spa-style bathroom, a walk-in closet and a dedicated home office area. The lower level also includes a recreational room, three-piece bathroom, laundry area, cold room and ample space for storage.

108 Stratford Cres. is listed with Heaps Estrin Real Estate Team.
