Plaid Presents Vintage Crawl Toronto

When: Oct. 23, 7 p.m. – 12 a.m.
Details: Toronto’s Plaid Magazine is fast becoming known for organizing the best vintage shopping events in the city. This time around they’ve gathered 20 of the city’s top vintage retailers to keep their doors open extra late for a night of shopping and treats. It’s like Halloween came early for those who love stocking up on new clothes more than candy.
Myths In Existence (the return of Speech Jewelry)
Where: 702 Queen St. W.
When: Oct. 23, 7-11 p.m.
Details: Local designer Michael Mercanti will be celebrating the unveiling of a much-anticipated new collection and online shop for his line, Speech Jewelry. Mercanti’s pieces are a cult favourite amongst some of the world’s best dressed — having been spotted recently on Grimes and Florence Welch, not to mention street style starlets. Join in on the celebration to catch a glimpse before anyone else, as well as indulge in oysters, drinks and a performance by Montreal band TOPS.
The Ball
Where: Thompson Hotel Rooftop, 550 Wellington St. W.
When: Oct. 23, 10 p.m.
Details: Fashion blogger Jay Strut invites you to join him in celebrating “absolute nothingness during Toronto Fashion Week.” We don’t know much else about the party, except that he expects fashion week-worthy outfits to pass the dress code, and that he’s pretty fun to be around, so you’ll probably have fun.
Walk-In Closet with Sarah May Taylor
Where: Honest Ed’s, 581 Bloor St. W.
When: Oct. 25, 6-9 p.m.
Details: If you’ve envied TV host Sarah Taylor’s chic style ever since you first laid eyes on her, you’re not alone. Over the years, and through her travels, she’s accumulated quite the wardrobe, full of unique possessions. Get your hands on some of her goods as she hosts her walk-in closet sale, including tricks, treats and music on the opening day.
FRISCHE Magazine Issue No.2. Launch Party
Where: RSVP required for location details
When: Oct. 26, 8 p.m.
Details: Ring in the weekend and let loose at the launch party for FRISCHE Magazine’s second issue on Friday night. They promise good people, good drinks and good vibrations on the dance floor. With Sapporo as an official sponsor and DJ Andy Capp & Millard on the decks, we don’t think they’re joking.
Rookie Masquerade
Where: Magic Pony, 680 Queen St. W.
When: Saturday Oct. 27, 5-10 p.m.
Details: Famed fashion tween Tavi Gevinson will be in town to celebrate the launch of her new publication, Rookie Yearbook One, and she’s having a costume party to celebrate. This is the hottest Saturday night ticket in town. There will be a book signing, an art show, a photo booth and a dance party, along with guest DJs and appearances by Rookie contributors such as photographer Petra Collins.
