Toronto Style Radar: Gardiner Museum, The Bay, I’Moniq, Chinedesign

Every Tuesday, we round up the best events from the city’s fashion scene. In this edition: a Valentine’s trunk show, a massive clearance sale, a pop-up from a popular jewellery designer, a masquerade and more.

Valentine’s Trunk Show & Sale

When: Feb. 12, 5:30-9 p.m.
Where: Gardiner Shop, 111 Queen’s Park
Details: Everyone wants a piece of new jewellery on Valentine’s Day, even more so than an indulgent piece of chocolate. Today, the shop at the Gardiner Museum will be hosting a trunk show and sale, featuring some of the city’s best jewellery and accessory designers. Expect to find pieces from Biko, Chloé Comme Parris, Eliza Kozurno, Juma and more.

The Bay’s (Final) Final Clearance Sale

When: Feb. 11-15, 12:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Where: Arcadian Loft, 401 Bay Street, 8th Floor
Details: The Bay has announced a final clearance sale up in the Arcadian Loft, where you can take an additional 50 per cent off already-reduced women’s designer collections (for a total of up to 80 per cent off). Expect to elbow and fight your way to great finds.

I’Moniq’s Two-Day Pop-Up

When: Feb. 13-14
Where: Fresh Collective, 692 Queen St. W.
Details: If you’re a fan of Toronto-songstress Melanie Fiona’s style as much as her vocals, you’ll be pleased to get your hands on a piece from one of her favourite local designers, I’Moniq. Here’s your chance to meet the designer herself and enter a raffle to win an original piece. Make sure to stop by and pick up a piece that’s fit for you (and Fiona).

With Pleasure

When: Feb. 14, 6-11 p.m.
Where: Huntclub, 709 College St.
Details: Sick and tired of all the girly, frilly and sappy “love” stuff on Valentine’s Day? We can’t really blame you, even if we like to relish in it once a year. If racy and X-rated is more your thing, head to Huntclub this Thursday to explore the works of some featured artists that are sure to arouse.

Chinedesign’s Masquerade

When: Feb. 15
Where: Daniels Spectrum, 585 Dundas St. E.
Details: Toronto fashion label Chinedesign is back with a new exhibition to celebrate fashion infused with African and Caribbean aesthetics and traditions. This year, there will be an avant-garde masquerade, with all guests in attendance required to wear a mask, at least until midnight.
