Opening Soon: Eco-conscious retailer on King

Rejoice, all ye outdoorsy-types! Patagonia is set to open its first retail store in Toronto (and Canada, for that matter) on December 15.

While the intersection of King and Peter may be known as "granola corner" to many (okay, maybe just to us), Patagonia will be spreading its woodsy charm a little further west.

Indeed, the eco-conscious clothing retailer will be opening up shop in the Gurney Stove building (circa 1872), at King and Brant.

Patagonia will also be giving Toronto customers the opportunity to nominate a recipient for a $2,000 "environmental grant."

Traditionally, these grants are awarded to environmental groups and organizations in each store’s locale.

Patagonia, 500 King St. W.
