Earlier this week, Holt Renfrew unveiled its latest window installation. Emblazoned on the glass reads a rather cryptic message: You’ve Been Coveteur’d by The Coveteur. The Covet-what, you say? Well, let us tell you. The Coveteur is a fashion blog created by three Toronto talents – designer Erin Kleinberg, stylist Stephanie Mark and photographer Jake Rosenberg — that launched in January, receiving 20,000 hits on the first day.
So what makes The Coveteur so special? It delves into the closets of the fashion industy’s elite (Eizabeth Cabral, Suzanne Rogers, Khloe Kardashian and Nicky Hilton, to name a few) to dig out and unveil their most coveted treasures to the world.
“Erin and I are both obsessed with street style and thought, why not take the voyeurs of the world one step further, allowing them to deconstruct the looks they see in the street by viewing their entire wardrobe?” says Mark.
Now receiving over 10,000 hits daily, and with global recognition from Vogue, The New York Times, ELLE, Flare and FASHION, the three have clearly hit the ground running. So what advice would they give to budding bloggers? According to Kleinberg, “motivation is half the battle. As long as you have a passion and drive you are way ahead of the pack.”
