Following months of anticipation from Canada-wide leather aficionados, the luxe OBJECT for Danier collection by stylist extraordinaire George Antonopoulos has just hit select Danier stores. The second in a series of Danier collaborations this season — Greta Constantine’s tightly edited Skin collection being the first — was unveiled last week at a Yorkdale trunk show, bringing bigwigs like FASHION and Zoomer editors Bernadette Morra and Suzanne Boyd all the way up-up-uptown.
In an online feature with Erin Kleinberg and Stephanie Mark from The Coveteur, Antonopoulos notes that he was “trying to redefine how leather is worn” with the collection, approaching leather as if it were a fabric as opposed to a skin. Standout pieces from the line include a supple blouse made of lambskin Henley, a timeless trench in grey lambskin with a slim silhouette, and — our favourite — a quietly stunning LBD with three-quarter-length sleeves.
Each piece from the line, which includes accessories, will easily make the transition from office to lounge, a versatility that Antonopoulos strove for. The online lookbook features striking local gal Naro Lokuruka, known around Hogtown for her effortless street style.
