If you have an opening in your diary tonight, then maybe you can fill it with some reasonably priced merch. The creative-types at OCAD are celebrating the launch of their new Student Shop this evening at the OCAD Student Gallery on Dundas West.
The bash, which is being held together with the reception for the gallery's latest exhibition, "To Precipitate Shadow," runs from 6-8 p.m.
The new shop, which describes itself as "a cabinet of curiosities," is located inside the Student Gallery. It will feature items from both students and OCAD alumni, including Julie Moon, Winnie Truong, Fantasy Camp and Lisa Visser.
In an initiative to support OCAD's artists and desigers, the money from all sales under $50 at the shop will go directly to the artitist, with a 25 per cent commission applied to sales over that amount.
When you know your money's going to a good place, it's guilt-free shopping. Right?
