T.O. auction to feature Darryl Sittler & Bobby Orr game-worn hockey memorabilia

Get ready, hockey fans: an L.A. auction house is diving into the sports world with its first-ever hockey auction on June 20 in Toronto.ย

This first sports auction for Studio Auctions includes a mix of items from Canadian and American teams, with a special focus on high-quality, photo-matched memorabilia. Items up for grabs include jerseys, hockey sticks, contracts, posters and pucks. Itโ€™s a dream come true for anyone looking to own a piece of hockey history.

Big-ticket items include an autographed game-worn jersey from Darryl Sittler, as well as game-worn jerseys from Ian Turnbull, and Dave โ€œTigerโ€ Williams. Fans can also bid on milestone hockey sticks used by Wayne Gretzky or a game-used rookie stick from Bobby Orr.

โ€œWe wanted our first sports auction to coincide with a major sporting event โ€” we chose hockey memorabilia because the NHL finals are in June,โ€ says Brad Teplitsky, Studio Auctionsโ€™ co-founder.ย

โ€œAnd we chose Toronto because hockey is the most beloved sport in Canada and Toronto is home to the Hockey Hall of Fame and one of the largest hockey fan bases in the world,” Teplitsky said. “Some of the best hockey players of all time have come from this city.โ€

While the live-auction is scheduled for June 20, for those who canโ€™t make it in person, it will also be streamed online for global participation. On top of Maple Leafs memorabilia, fans can also bid on items from the Vancouver Canucks, Philadelphia Flyers, Calgary Flames, Montreal Canadiens and more.ย

The live auction will also feature appearances from Toronto hockey greats like Darryl Sittler, Rick Vaive and Wendel Clark.ย

Currently, pre-bidding is also open online โ€“ where die-hard fans can put in bids early.ย

Ffor authentication, the auction house guarantees that all items are 100 per cent original through a thorough authentication process, verifying paperwork, materials and ownership history.

Mark your calendars for June 20 at 7:30 p.m. for a chance to score big on some iconic hockey collectibles. For more details and to start pre-bidding, visit StudioAuctions.com.ย
