Toronto’s Festival of Beer

Details: What’s better than a cold beer on a hot day? Probably nothing. But even if it rains (showers are predicted for Saturday), Toronto’s Festival of Beer will not be stopped. The 19th annual celebration of brew will serve more than 200 brands, and it’s a rain or shine event. There will also be live performances by De La Soul, Spin Doctors and more.
Toronto Animation Arts Festival International
When: July 26-28
Where: TIFF Bell Lightbox
Details: This festival will have film premieres, international shorts, speakers, live script readings, student film competitions, master classes and more to please all animation fans. There will also be family activities, so everyone can get animated.
Importfest
When: July 27
Where: Metro Toronto Convention Centre
Details: If you’re a car nerd in withdrawal after the Honda Indy, have no fear: Importfest is back. Touted as being “Canada’s biggest and baddest car show,” this year’s lineup includes show cars from across Canada and the U.S., along with models, a DJ competition and more.
Matsuri
When: July 28
Where: Yonge-Dundas Square
Details: This will be the very first Matsuri Japanese summer festival. Celebrating Japanese culture, the festival takes over Yonge-Dundas square to fill it with Japanese music — both traditional and modern — along with art, performances, cuisine and more.
Vintage Bicycle Show
When: July 28
Where: Trinity Bellwoods Park
Details: Back for a second year, the Community Bicycle Network’s show will exhibit bikes of all makes, models, shapes and sizes at Trinity Bellwoods Park.
