Laughing at the Art World

Where: Art Gallery of Ontario, 317 Dundas St. W.
Details: For as long as art has been filling galleries, humorists have been making fun of it. The AGO’s Laughing at the Art World, which wraps up this weekend, considers the works of humorists and their contribution to the discussion of art’s relevance. Works from romantic painter Francisco Goya, political cartoonist Duncan Macpherson, graffiti artist Banksy and more will be exhibited.
One of a Kind Spring Show & Sale
When: March 27-31
Where: Direct Energy Centre, 100 Princes’ Blvd.
Details: Pack some glitter and macramé and head to the One of a Kind Spring Show & Sale, North America’s largest consumer craft show, which welcomes 200,000 visitors annually. The show features 450 Canadian and American artisans selling unique handmade items, everything from art to fashion to home decor and more. Sellers from Etsy, an online marketplace, will also be exhibiting their goods.
Riverside/Leslieville Food & Cultural Walking Tour
When: March 30
Where: 709 Queen St. East
Details: Take a sweet and savoury tour through Leslieville and Riverside. This 3.5-hour walking tour shares the culture and history of the east-end as guests are taken to local shops to taste a variety of products, from wine and cheese to seafood.
Toronto Athletic Games
When: March 30
Where: Blast Athletic, 374 Dupont St.
Details: Athletes from the top training communities in Toronto compete in multiple events that will test their speed, strength, agility and endurance. Awards will be presented to the top three male and female contestants in each category.
All About Pets Show
When: March 29-31
Where: International Centre, 6900 Airport Rd.
Details: If chihuahuas in pink cowboy hats are your thing, then head over to the 20th annual All About Pets Show at the International Centre. The event has over 160 exhibitors and will feature birds, reptiles, fish and, of course, a dog fashion show.
