The town of Richmond Hill is tops according to a recently released report.
The finding comes in the Conference Board of Canada’s recently released report City Magnets II: Benchmarking the Attractiveness of 50 Canadian Cities.
The report looks at the features that make Canadian cities attractive to mobile populations and skilled workers, comparing cities on 41 indicators grouped under seven categories including health, economy, environment and education.
The report stated that Richmond Hill is “among Canada’s most attractive places and tops the field of suburban communities.”
“We have always known that Richmond Hill is a great place to live, play and work,” said Dave Barrow, mayor of Richmond Hill in a release.
“But it’s always nice when it’s statistically proven and people outside the community recognize this as well.”
“What’s really exciting about this report is that Richmond Hill is among the top six, and ranked second overall for the category of innovation — the only one in the GTA,” Barrow said. “We have a highly skilled and educated population, and it helps to support the continued health of our economy.”
