Gig: Matt Pryor Solo Show
Indie singer/songwriter Matt Pryor of The Get Up Kids and The New Amsterdams will lend his folkish vibe to Drake Hotel’s Underground venue in a solo show to promote the release of his new album, May Day.

Hit the slopes at Yonge-Dundas Square
A man-made snow park will take over the city’s main square this weekend.Hosted by pro-snowboarder Johnny Lyall, there will be live DJs, Burton team demonstrations and a ski and board jam with a $6,000 grand prize. It's all part of a promotional tour for Mountain Dew — but it's free.

Can’t Sit Still: Inspiring Women Animation Workshop
The Toronto Mediatheque offers an animation workshop for kids the first Saturday of every month. In honor of International Women’s Day on March 8, this weekend’s theme will be inspiring women. Kids will make a 3D clay animation inspired by a girl or woman they look up to. A special screening will follow the workshop.

The Toronto Golf and Travel Show
Here’s one for the avid golfers. The Toronto Golf and Travel Show is on this weekend, featuring the latest in golf equipment, courses and golf-related travel. Among the exhibitiors: Golf Town, Adidas Eyewear and Callaway Golf Canada. Activities include a test range, where members can show off their skill, and the tricky-sounding sandtrap challenge. If your golfing abilities run more towards the 19th hole, you may want to check out the Glenlivet Scotch tasting.

Study and Go Abroad Fair
We’re not suggesting you leave town or anything, but students with the itch to travel should head to the Metro Convention Centre on Sunday for Canada’s largest international university and student travel expo. In attendance will be representatives from universities all over the world, with exhibits promoting a wide range of the study programs offered. Student groups will be on hand to share their experiences of travel, volunteering, internships and working abroad.
