These boots were made for real life

With fall in full swing, it’s hard not to think about footwear. Summer sandals and adorable flats must be put aside (or worn with socks, and let’s face it, you don’t want to be the socks-with-sandals lady, do you?) The answer to fall’s footwear conundrum is, of course, the boot. We featured riding boots in our October issue, but maybe you’re not the crop and bridle type. And the fact is, a stylized leather riding boot that you can wear to the office might not do for walking the dog on the weekend.

No matter how fashionable you are, with the arrival of cooler weather comes a need for solid, outdoor footwear. You want something you can rock while raking leaves, wrapping burlap around your bushes, and yes, walking that dog. And if you’re stylish, you want something that won’t make you look like a frump. Here, a few good options:

1. Dubarry of Ireland’s Country Boots
