The Annex’s cheap but good Yummy Bar-B-Q closes

The food Gods giveth, and the food Gods taketh away. Last month, they gave the Annex a shiny new Guu. Now, the Annex has lost Yummy Bar-B-Q, a cheaply priced but gratifying Korean eatery right between Insomnia and Guu SakaBar.

Currently, the windows are papered up and a sign indicates that the space will soon be occupied by an Ali Baba’s falafel joint (yes, another one). We’re disappointed to say the least. The spot was a staple for affordable, quick galbi and other Korean delights – always with a generous heaping of side dishes.

We gave a call to Yummy’s other location on Yonge Street, which is still open, but the owner was not immediately available for comment.
