Tessa Virtue and Leafs’ Morgan Rielly announce pregnancy in adorable Instagram post

Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Morgan Rielly, 30, and Olympic ice dancer Tessa Virtue, 35, just announced they’re expecting their first child in the cutest way ever on Tuesday.

Virtue posted a series of photos of her and her husband on Instagram, including tropical scenery of the two lounging on a lush beach surrounded by palm trees and water. In three of the photos, Virtue, clad in a black two-piece and blue ribbed suit, shows off her growing baby bump.

“Some snaps from my favourites folder from a few weeks back,” she captioned, delighting her over 430,000 followers with the baby bump pics. The couple received thousands of supportive comments, with one Instagram user gushing “TESSA VIRTUE IS LITERALLY MOTHERING.”

More than a few joked about what type of future sports career the child would have.

“Yay! Congratulations you two! 💕 wouldn’t be surprised if the little bean came out already wearing skates lol,” one user exclaimed.

“Future first overall draft pick in the NHL or PWHL,” another stated.

Others happily proclaimed how excited the couple’s dog Zoë would be to have a younger brother or sister.

“Did Zoë just get promoted to big sis? 🥹 Congratulations!!”

“TESSA!!!!! zoë is going to be the best partner in crime.”

Notable celebs extended their congratulations, including Nelly Furtado, former Dragons’ Den host Arlene Dickinson, Canadian soccer player Allysha Chapman, Olympic swimmer Penny Oleksiak, Canadian figure skater Kirsten Moore-Towers and TV host Cheryl Hickey.
