One of Canada’s favourite actors had a hand in choosing the design for a limited-edition shirt honouring one of Canada’s most inspirations figures and the response has been “overwhelming.”

On Saturday, Ryan Reynolds posted a photo of himself on Instagram wearing the Terry Fox Foundations’ shirt with the caption that touched on his history with the annual fundraiser.

“I’ve been taking part in the Terry Fox Run since second grade and can’t think of a more enduring and lovely legacy for one person. Terry Fox inspired millions in life and death,” he captioned the post.

The shirt features messages Terry and his family received both past and present, and “celebrates how his story and legacy continues to inspire people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities win Canada and beyond,” said the press release from the foundation.

The response to the shirt has been so overwhelming, that the Terry Fox Foundation decided to launch its first-ever-pre-sale at shop.terryfox.org in order to facilitate orders of the #DearTerry shirt. produced by Adidas, the shirts are available in a variety of sizes and styles and range in price from $25 (short sleeve), $35 (long sleeve), and $40 (performance tee).

The launch of the shirt on April 12, coincides with day that Terry began in Marathon of Hope in 1980. All proceeds will go to support cancer research in Canada.
