What’s your most cherished piece of Star Trek memorabilia? A pair of Spock ears that Leonard [Nimoy] gave me. We are still very close friends.

What’s the wildest costume you’ve seen a fan in at one of these conventions? Klingons wear the wildest costumes. They make their own and they have distinct variations.

How did you feel about the Internet campaign to elect you as Canada’s next governor general? I was very honoured by the campaign to make me governor general, but I would have never been able to take a job like this. With four TV shows airing this fall and other new projects, it would have been impossible.

Batman and Robin were one of the best duos of all time. What’s your favourite duo of today? Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz [who co-star in Knight and Day]. He’s a big fan and she’s got great legs.

If you could take the Batmobile for a joyride, where would you go? To Monaco and race Formula One.

Are you recognized more these days for Batman or your voice-over work on Family Guy? The fans seem to know it all. I am only recognized as Adam West these days.… West is Best!

What was it like to play super-Cylon John Cavil in Battlestar Galactica? I felt all the roles were well defined and interesting.… The Cylons had an extra intrigue.

How are sci-fi fans different from others? They are not weighed down by burdensome reason; therefore, they are left the expansive element of imagination.

You’re good friends with Neil Young. What has he told you about Toronto? Neil’s covering of the beautiful song “Four Strong Winds” reveals his deep, emotional ties to his land of origin, Ontario.

What’s your best Sarah Michelle Gellar memory from Buffy the Vampire Slayer? We knitted together once. I kept seeing her needles as stakes in her hand. Weird.

What types of questions do you get asked at fan expos? “What is ___ like to work with?” Insert Joss Whedon, Nathan Fillion, Neil Patrick Harris. I usually say, “They smell amazing" and leave it at that.

Now that you’ve slain TV (with Buffy) and the Internet (with your web series The Guild) what’s next? Card games. It’s really where the money is.

How does one say “Hello, Toronto!” in Wookiee? AAAAaaaarrrgggghhhhh, wwwrrroooookkkkk!!

How did you land the role of Chewbacca? Through a big feet contest in London. I still have big feet [he stands 7’ 3”]! I didn’t win, but I won something much better.

If Chewy could speak English, what would he say? “What are you people doing? Get out of the way — let me drive!”

What conditioner does Chewy use? Only my hairdresser on Rodeo Drive knows for sure. He buys it in bulk.
