So, Black Hoof and Company is delayed until next year. In the meantime, enjoy a cocktail bar

It’s been a bit of a roller coaster ride for fans of The Black Hoof lately: first, The Hoof Café closed to make way for Black Hoof and Company, originally set to open this spring. That opening was delayed, of course — for an entire year — leaving us to wonder what would happen with the space until then. The answer is a somewhat unsurprising (though wholly welcome) cocktail bar.

Yesterday, it was revealed on Corey Mintz‘s blog that a Black Hoof cocktail bar is set to open this Thursday in the space previously occupied by The Hoof Café. It’ll be open Thursdays to Mondays, 5:30 p.m. to last call. In addition to cocktails, the bar will also offer cheese plates and zero vodka — literally — which shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to anyone who’s familiar with Jen Agg, The Hoof’s co-owner and cocktail queen.

The bar will also host a series of pop-up dinners and will eventually be moving into the space next to The Black Hoof as a more permanent fixture.
