Local Caribbean favourite to open a third location in the Annex

Having wooed the GTA from its Scarborough and Brampton locations with their Caribbean delicacies, Scotty Bons is all set to open its doors to a third location in the Annex at 402 Bloor St. W.

“If all goes according to plan, we are hoping to commence sometime during the first or second week of January. It will most likely be a grand opening,” confirms Morid Ahmady, partner of Scotty Bons Caribbean Grill.

The Scotty Bons name comes from the customary scotch bonnet pepper that is the very core of the restaurant’s fiery in-house hot sauce.

The spread will include local favourites such as loaded goat curry poutine that includes shredded cheese in place of curds and must-have house jerk gravy, as well as the jerk shrimp bowl topped with coleslaw, veggie curry, tomatoes, corn, cilantro, and their famous in-house sauce. It is, after all, what the eatery terms “food for the soul.”

Other options include a traditional chana with potato and chickpea that can be enhanced with a range of protein alternatives. There is also the option to pile it into a roti with house rice and peas or lemon garlic rice on the side.

The entire menu will continue to be halal certified other than the beef patties.

As the Annex location preps to open in the new year, those who wanted to sample the cuisine now could order online through the website, Uber Eats, or Skip The Dishes.
