The Learning Curve Tutoring and Educational Services is a network of private tutors providing one-on-one instruction in the student’s home or school. In business for 20 years, the company expanded from Ottawa to Toronto in 2000 and, most recently, established a roster in Durham. The Learning Curve has become a trusted resource for private tutoring and continues to be referred by the most established schools and respected educators, consultants and counsellors. Its primary function is to help those enrolled in grades 1 to 12 navigate their way through the province’s challenging academic curricula — maths, sciences, languages, humanities, etc. — and to prep for standardized tests such as the SSAT, SAT and ACT, all the while imparting valuable time management, test-taking and study skills. The Learning Curve’s mandate is to provide private tutoring in such a manner as to demonstrate the link between effort and results by fostering independence, self-esteem and a respect for deadlines.
