Rosedale resident and HGTV Canada personality Sarah Richardson is embarking on her seventh home design series, Sarah Off The Grid. This time she’s getting the whole family involved as she’s sharing the general contractor role with her husband Alex and getting input from her daughters as they build their dream family home out in Creemore, Ont. What makes this home extra special? It is going to be entirely off the electricity power grid. That means solar panels to generate electricity and digging a well to bring water to the home, among many other eco-friendly tactics. Richardson hasn’t said goodbye to the city, though. Her Midtown house and downtown office are still home base. Sarah Off The Grid premieres Sunday, Sept. 10, at 10 p.m.
