Richmond Hillers happy, engaged

In the town of Richmond Hill, there is plenty of good news and many satisfied people. I know this because I hear it everywhere when I am out in the community.

The results of our recent 2012 Community Survey say that the overwhelming majority of 94 per cent of residents said they are happy with our town as a place to live.

Our strategic plan is essentially our business plan here at the town. As I have said many times before, this plan was not created to sit on a shelf. It is a plan of action that guides everything we do. It drives our budget, which, in turn, drives our plans for creating the Richmond Hill we all want.

The town’s economic development strategy positions Richmond Hill as a world-class community, rich with opportunities for new and existing businesses. The cultural plan, parks and recreation plan and the town’s recent launch of corporate social media accounts aimed at further engaging residents enable us to connect with our community.

Richmond Hill is an economically and socially healthy community. It is apparent how our strategic plan is guiding us on an exciting journey — one of connection, innovation and change — that we are taking together as a community.

We are a thriving community and our residents and businesses are satisfied with Richmond Hill. The survey results as well as the many projects both completed and underway are evidence of that. Thanks to you, our residents, we are a community that is living our strategic plan vision: Richmond Hill is where people come together to build our community.
