About the Restaurant

Visionary restaurateur and judge on Top Chef Canada, Janet Zuccarini opened Trattoria Nervosa 20 years ago, and today it remains one of the best Italian restaurants in the city. The Yorkville neighbourhood restaurant sits unassumingly in a small yellow house on the corner of Yorkville Avenue and Bellair Street. The wrap around street level patio is lined with bouquets of flowers and full of city dwellers enjoying an Aperol Spritz and one of the exquisitely simple yet classic Italian dishes from the menu. Known for its incredible pizzas made by a real Napolese pizzaiolo (and Zuccarini is certified as well), Trattoria Nervosa's menu is made up of traditional southern Italian fare that draws from the recipes Zuccarini grew up eating with her family. Nervosa is a Toronto institution and has been visited by some of the biggest celebrities in the world, but its humble nature prevails past the glowing reviews. This is a restaurant that has stood the test of time and will continue booming for years to come.
