The Cheese Boutique has been a long-standing draw for both chefs and regular folk on the hunt for the perfect fromage. And although plenty of other gourmet options for the cultured palate abound, the gelateria is here for the masses. The owners bought a Carpigiani ice cream maker and built an addition to the side of the main building. The result? The CB Gelateria, where finely crafted gelato is shelled out to folks needing a post-shop breather. The 12 gelato options — all created in-house — are crafted from a combination of locally sourced milk and fruit along with Italian goods: the chocolate hails from Perugia, Italy, and ladyfingers are vicenzovo. For a really indulgent treat, a shot of leonardi 25-year old balsamic vinegar can be poured over the gelato for $25 (this works especially well with the fior di latte gelato, we’re told). Priced at $3.76 for a piccolo to $25.44 for un litro, the goods are also labeled in Italiano, with the recipe’s origin noted beneath each flavour.
