Chef Attilio Pugliese is no stranger to the restaurant business, having previously worked at Queen Margherita Pizza to the opening of the first Tavolino on King Street West in 2000, and, lest we forget, his cheap and cheerful venture Dundas West's the Happy Hooker. Clearly, this man understands how to run a booming business. After a good run, Pugliese decided to return to his roots and reopen Tavolino, but this time it's nestled in a cosy yellow brick house on Mount Pleasant Road. Tavolino's menu hasn't strayed far from the original King Street location, with items like its famed veal marsala and Tavolino pizza. The antipasti platter here is always a lovely mixture of cured salumi, warm olives, cheese and other Italian bites to tide you over before the main event.
