Best described as a Mexican snack bar, Papi Chulo's serves small plate meals, like tacos, salads, and empanadas, but also has fully loaded nachos and fries to share. The made-in-house guac is of the smoother variety. There's an empanada stuffed with Nutella, and the margaritas that flow freely are served in a glass rimmed with salt and tajin spice: just a few examples of how Papi Chulo's manages to keep tradition alive with inventive classics. The atmosphere is definitely cool, in part due to its prime location on Ossington, and the decor of wagon wheel chandeliers, modern Mexican folk art mural and a neon sign at the back that will get a Notorious B.I.G. song stuck in your head.
