About the Restaurant

(Asian food + tapas dining style) X a cool space = a good night: the Opium Bar has solved this equation. The bar specializes in all varieties of Asian cuisine, often fusing more than one together, as is the case with their traditional Japanese snack of grilled octopus tentacle on a skewer but flavoured with the traditional spices of northern Chinese food. The black opium fried chicken is a crowd favourite and pairs nicely with Opium's namesake cocktail, one of just eight house cocktails made to harmoniously accompany the food. The Opium Bar's space is set up with dim, purple lighting and hanging lanterns to replicate the ambience of the surreptitious Chinese opium dens from the 19th century. It has a tendency to fill up on the weekend and is a great spot for a cool, yet low-key weekday dinner.
