Mezu is Toronto's very own Korean-Canadian tapas bar. From chef Donguk Sul, of Momofuku, Mercatto and Mamakas, comes a stylish and airy interior with benches he made from repurposed wood. The menu is collection of small plates and two daily features, which are usually fish and pork dishes with seasonal sides and accoutrements. The menu is small and shareable, and the picnic bench seating encourages large groups of friends to come and indulge. Along with the colourful and beautifully constructed dishes, Mezu also has some visually stunning cocktails like the Gaza Mezu. This shockingly simple cocktail is composed of plum extract, effervescent wine and raisins, which float up alongside the small bubbles. With a patio that seats about 20 and seating for 30 on the inside, this intimate tapas bar is the perfect place for friends to share some snacks and stories.
