Mezes is a family-run operation that has been a part of the Danforth dining scene since before Miley Cyrus was born. At Mezes, the emphasis is on sharing plates, which is the namesake of the restaurant, mezes. We love the ample selection. Conservative eaters will likely stick to the standard Hellenic offerings, like calamari and dolmas, but more adventurous eaters will enjoy exploring traditional Greek offerings not found anywhere else on the Danforth. One of our favourites is the pantzaropita: flaky phyllo blankets with a grilled beet and sautรฉed leek filling. The savoury pastry is served with skordalia, a garlicky potato-based dip that also anchors the pantzaropita. Enjoy the friendly and lively ambience all over this two-level dining space, which also has a heated patio to make every day feel like a warm one in Greece.
