Me Va Me has always been a bit of a Thornhill secret. But the mini-chain has recently been wooing downtowners with its Israeli eats and making them reconsider the drive up north. With locations popping up all over the city, this falafel house has become somewhat of a beacon for true Mediterranean classics. The classic falafel ($6.95), featuring perfect laffa bread, spun out fresh from the clay oven and stuffed with a mound of fillings selected from the behind the counter. We like the whole shebang: slivers of dill pickles paired with mayo-laced red cabbage, tomatoes, onions and banana peppers. Four sizzling balls of falafel possess a perfectly crisp shell but are still nice and moist on the inside, and well-aerated hummus and some tahini finish off the wrap. For under ten bucks, Me Va Me provides plenty of bang for your buck.
