Established in 2018, Marq's Chicago Beef claims to serve Toronto's original Italian beef sandwich. Its motto? Do one thing, and do it well. And it does just that, bringing an iconic Illinois staple north of the border. A Chicago Italian beef sandwich is made with beef that's oven-roasted in a blend of spices, sliced paper-thin and finished in steaming hot gravy, then layered onto a soft, French roll and garnished with hot giardiniera, sweet peppers or both. The beef can be combined with sausage or cheddar to add a unique twist, and sides include crinkle-cut fries topped served plain or topped with cheddar and/or beef.
